The Coral Castle

I painted “The Coral Castle “ after I visited there. This was after the horrific events in Charlottesville, and after a frightening hurricane ravaged Florida. There are references to these events in my painting if you look for them.

The Coral Castle was built by one small man, working alone to quarry heavy heavy rocks , put them in place, and sculpt them into beds, tables, chairs, the moon and stars. He persevered to create the castle for his beloved. Sometimes I think I am involved also in an eccentric endeavor, but if I squint my eye and look at you I can see that you are too! We are fortunate to be propelled by an inner drive. I hope we persevere to make something meaningful and good.
