Ann Eisenberg Friedlander received her first oil paints at age six. She has continued to paint since that time. While in art school at Parsons School of Design and Cooper Union, the understanding of perspective, shadows and economy of line formed an enduring foundation for her. Later while making collages, she carefully placed elements to form the composition and developed a deep interest in the way that we give meaning to symbols. Currently, Friedlander explores balance, rhythm and depth using simple symbols and color in her paintings and drawings.

"I use color and shapes to create balance, rhythm, and grace."
